SMART-Lock
operation:
1) Homeowner sets the lock.
2) The mail carrier delivers
the mail as usual because the door will open only ONCE. (If
a vandal or thief tries to open the door after it has been opened
once, it won't open!)
3) Opens only with homeowners key. (2 Keys
are included). VERY, VERY secure!
The slot is large enough to accommodate
a folded magazine, but once the mail falls on to the floor
of the mailbox it is difficult to tamper with or steal. The mail slot is there so if you are gone a few days, the mail carrier can still deliver mail.
This mailbox
is protected by the finest rustproof coating in the world
- exterior industrial grade powder coat. With a minimum amount
of maintenance your GDM mailbox can look like new,
indefinitely. Maintenance involves waxing the mailbox several
times per year with an ordinary car wax and oiling the hinges
& lock with WD-40 or similar lubricant as needed.

Federal law requires every mailbox to have at least the home
owner's address
numbers neatly applied in a contrasting color. They are
required to be a minimum of 1" tall, placed on the flag
side of the mailbox. Many areas are requiring 3" tall
numbers
to aid emergency personnel in finding you quickly.
